  1. Prepare Pie Crust: Soften the butter and mix with granulated sugar until well combined. Add the egg yolk and continue mixing until smooth. Sieve in the all-purpose flour and gently knead into a dough, adding a little ice water as needed to adjust the consistency. Divide the dough into two portions, roll one into a thin sheet and place it in the pie dish, reserve the other for decoration.

  2. Prepare Strawberries: Wash and hull the strawberries, then cut them in half. Dice some of the strawberries and mix with granulated sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Heat over low heat, stirring until thickened to make strawberry jam.

  3. Assemble: Spread the strawberry jam evenly on the pie crust base, then arrange whole strawberries on top, optionally in a pattern. Cut the reserved pie crust into strips and weave or place them on top as decoration.
